Having joined the Stafford-based business in 2019 as an apprentice, Reece recently progressed to the sales role, as part of which he was invited for a two-day visit to the Erwin Hymer factory in Bad Waldsee, in southern Germany.
Not only did Reece get a guided tour of the headquarters and receive a full briefing from the team at the luxurious motorhome brand, he was able to take the latest 4 x 4 offroad Venture S vehicle for a test drive on a sloped course which tested it to the limits.
The HYMER Venture S, now in stock at Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld, boasts a Mercedes-Benz base and all-wheel drive along with luxury features including a 3D panoramic rear window, a pop-top roof and a staircase leading to a luxurious loft sleeping area.
Reece said: “The Venture S is a game changer as it is a totally unique cross between a motorhome and a high spec offroad vehicle.
“I am very grateful to Travelworld for the opportunity to take it for a test drive as it gives me a huge opportunity in my sales role to see what the Venture S is capable of, having seen firsthand.
“My visit to Germany allowed me to fully understand how the company is looking to the future, not its competitors, to develop its vehicles.”
The promotion to sales executive is the latest career development for Reece, who joined the business from college on a level 3 customer service apprenticeship in the handover team which presents vehicles to customers.
Now doing a management apprenticeship after earning qualifications in sales and marketing, Reece is pleased with the opportunities he has been given to progress.
He said: “Everybody at Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld has been very helpful as we work together to provide the best customer experience possible.
“My grandparents and parents have motorhomes so when I first saw the opportunity to join was on offer I felt it was a sector where I could build on this background to learn as I earned.
“I enjoy my role in sales as I help people make an emotional purchase which can open up new opportunities for travel and enjoyment.
“I like taking the time to fully understand what the customer is looking for, getting to know them and their plans. Spending time helping people pleases me so working for Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld means I can build relationships with customers which is really satisfying.”
Based in Valley Drive, Stafford, and now the UK’s largest HYMER dealership, Travelworld became an Erwin Hymer Group trading partner in 2013 and announced exclusivity with the group’s brands in 2015. The dealership has exclusively sold premium German vehicles from four of the group’s leading manufactures, Carado, Dethleffs, HYMER and Niesmann+Bischoff ever since.
